Program overview
Emory’s 2026 application cycle is closed. Its official application page publishes June 15, 2026 as the final deadline, including CASPA verification and the supplemental application. PAEA lists July 15, 2026. We display the official school date and retain this source conflict explicitly; the next-cycle deadline is not confirmed. Emory says applications reopen in April 2027 for the class entering Fall 2028.
The program requires 2,000 hours of direct, hands-on patient care, which may be paid or volunteer. The GRE is no longer required. Two recommendation letters are required, including at least one from a healthcare professional with whom the applicant has worked. Relatives and personal or family friends should not provide recommendations.
For the published 2026–2027 requirements, chemistry comprises two lab courses totaling eight semester credits; biology requires four credits with lab. Anatomy and physiology are three semester credits each, or combined coursework totaling at least six semester credits. Organic chemistry OR biochemistry requires three credits, as does statistics. Microbiology and genetics are recommended, not required. A C or better is required, and completion within ten years is recommended. Prerequisites for August 2027 entry must be completed by December 2026.
